The foundations of the house were built over 500 years ago. Although the developments are hardly comprehensible from today’s perspective, remnants of historic water pipes, spring sockets and stone terraces bear witness to the colorful history. The Alhar\u00eda served beyond the agriculture as a local center \u2013 in the 1970s, for example, a teacher came to the finca to teach the children of the surrounding farms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Alhar\u00eda came into family ownership in 1984 when our father Homayun bought the finca. The Alhar\u00eda was at that time partly fallen to ruins. In 1995, a large-scale forest fire destroyed two-thirds of the forest, which was reforested with government support and volunteers. The animal husbandry was suspended after the large-scale forest fire to allow the regrowth of the forest. Before that, a herd of goats with up to 50 goats lived in our forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
