The Finca Alharía consists of a house with outbuildings, surrounded by gardens and forest. It has a total area of 25 hectares, whereas only 15 hectares are managed and 10 hectares left for wilderness. It is located in a secluded location with beautiful views and embedded in the mountain range Serranía de Ronda. Around the farm we cultivate fertile terraces with vegetable gardens, a large variety of fruit trees and a mixed forest. We mainly produce food and forest products for our own use – only cork is sold in larger quantities. We manage the farm with a lot of manual work and little use of technical aids. The finca is energy self-sufficient, draws electricity from its own photovoltaic system and water from its own sources.
